Looking forward to this years Fine Foods Expo in Sydney!

Congratulations to the wonderful chocolate makers that won gold, silver and bronze awards at the 2019 Academy of Chocolate awards using Cacao beans from our beautiful Solomon Islands.

New report released last month called "Empty Promises" says the "ethical trade" CSR programs of the Big Chocolate industry are marketing gimmicks that make no difference to the lives of cocoa farmers in West Africa, where most of world's cocoa for chocolate comes from.
If your chocolate claims it is "ethically traded" due to programs with names such as Cocoa Life, Cocoa Plan, Cocoa for Good, then these are the Big Chocolate CSR programs that are the subject of this report.

On some of our black volcanic sandy beaches in Makira, beautiful leatherback turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. Unfortunately the eggs and the turtles are eaten if they are discovered. We have started a conservation project to create and train local rangers to protect the turtles and their eggs and educate local communities.
This supports our vision for our local communities in Makira to protect and maintain their culture, their environment and earn a livelihood to support their children by producing the highest quality, sustainable cash crops like cacao.

If you buy chocolate from the major chocolate companies such as cadbury or nestle, then you are buying chocolate made with child labour. They have promised for decades to stop using child labour in their supply but they haven't. Even some of the couverture chocolate used by chocolatiers is using child labour. Make informed choices about your chocolate.
Use bean to bar craft chocolate where there is farmer traceability.
Kudos to Washington Post for running this story against the big chocolate agenda.
